Nicolas Ocampo Java - Colombia

Nicolas and his brother, Karo, inherited Finca La Julia from their late father, Octavio.  While pushing the qualitative boundaries of cultivation and processing, Nicolas is also committed to sustainability - investing in reforestation efforts that have garnered him the Rainforest Alliance Certification.  The Java varietal is named as such because it was initially brought (by the Dutch) from Ethiopia to the island of Java (Indonesia) in the early 19th century.  This particular selection was double-fermented and then dried using a combination of silo and sun, on raised beds.
