This is the first of the Kenyan coffees that we selected on our sourcing trip in January. Kii Coffee Factory is located in the central province of the Kirinyaga District and serves four surrounding villages. Meaning “White Mountain,” Kirinyaga sits at the base of Mount Kenya - an inactive volcano responsible for the mineral-rich soil in the surrounding regions as well as the freshwater runoff (from its snowcap) that serves as a primary water source.
