Kamwangi coffee factory is located in the northeastern corner of Kirinyaga County. The factory processes coffee for the Ngariama community - a group of smallholders (avg. 1-2 hectares) situated within a couple of kilometers of Kamwangi (making transport more accessible than in some other producing areas). The cherries are hand-sorted for ripeness, depulped and fermented in tanks for 24-36 hours; they are then washed and graded by density, before being dried on raised beds for 12-20 days.
